Yesterday

I sprinkled water onto my face but didn’t intend to dry it.
I walked out of the bathroom into the living room.
Didn’t intend to witness it.

My eyes drawn to the shining light on the balcony
so bright,
so bright,
inviting me to look.

So I walked out, faced the sun and its light
so bright,
so bright,
right in front of me.

I picked up my phone, ready to take a photo of the last light
so bright,
so bright,
just a little, I dimmed the light.

I turned the camera to the other side for a few photos of mine
so bright,
so bright,
and again, just a little, I dimmed the light.

… then I simply witnessed
the magic of light …

The sunlight applied makeup on my face
as it kissed me.
Shimmering  I saw. Glowing  me.

My lips, my eyes,
and the water that never dried on my face,
twinkling — a sprinkle of sunshine, leaving its trace.

And as I moved my body,
I saw a double rainbow there behind me,
but also here, right in front of me.

And I screamed and went wild,
crazily running up toward the sky,
shouting out all of my cries, with a smile…

As I looked, I admired
the edge of the sky,
there lies the end of the rainbow’s lines.

Then I called out …
Please, if you’re inviting me to the end of the rainbow,
Please, promise me there’ll be a place for the ones I love …
