… so this is love?

Tell me …

If it’s love, then why are we hiding?
If it’s love, then why aren’t we shining?
If it’s love, then why do we feed only half a love—
and speak about love, but not love the love?

If it’s love, then why are we scared?
If we care, then why don’t we dare?
If it’s love, then why do we condition—
our love into the cage of hesitation?

If it’s love, then why aren’t we free?
If it’s love, then why don’t you just love me—
and let yourself be loved and be free,
the same way we let each other be?

If it’s love, then why are we still holding on
to everything that keeps love from carrying on?
If it’s love, then why do we turn our faces from
all the beauty we should be standing upon?

… so this is love?

I hope love is true enough
for us to hold love in our strength,
not in our fear.

I hope love is strong enough
for us to hold love in our beauty,
not in our insecurity.

I hope love is beautiful enough
for us to hold love in our truth,
not in our delusion.

I hope you love.
I hope you are loved.
I hope you know that you are love.
And that you are beloved.

I am love. I am beloved. I am loved. I love.
