Queen of Hearts

welcomed by the land of forever,
embraced by an endless meadow.
loved by the moonlight and the sunlight,
blessed by the breath of life.

gifts to the girl who arrives
in the hour of stunning twilight—
with the beauty she carries within
and the love she holds in her light.

the girl journeys through the night—
eyes open, she sees life.
she plays beyond her sight,
letting herself fall into her pride.

the girl wakes in morning light —
heart opens, she meets life.
she grows beyond her sight,
letting herself fall into life.

~ the girl is born

in the land of falling leaves—
she who walks through every piece,
spilling the water of her joy
to where hearts were once destroyed.

in the land of cold winter—
she who walks through the moonless night,
sharing the sparks of her fire
to warm the frozen pride.

in the river of spring rain—
she who walks through flooding pain,
planting seeds of trees that root —
deep in the mother of truth.

in the playground of summer—
she who walks in beauty as a lover,
painting colors of rising life
as a gift for all, at no price.

the girl keeps walking with herself within,
looks at others with a heart so bright,
shows respect for the truth they live,
and never, ever dims her light.

~ and the queen is born

in the king’s land of wonder
many bow before the throne of power—
being chased by every fleeting beauty—
that stirs their own curiosities.

and the king may take their hands,
and closeness to warm his nights,
for power runs deep in his nature,
and his wonder flows from might.

wandering in the land of forever,
while a king still wonders:
does what he see make he feel alive?
will he claim it through his pride?

and one summer’s night, they meet eyes,
while the king knows the rules of pride:
but to see life in the girl’s eyes —
is it a gift that comes with a price?

‘… barely even friends
then somebody bends…’

unexpectedly, he draws into her,
like a tree leaning toward sunlight.
and a whisper stirs within him —
could this be another surprise?

but the girl is not in this game of war,
not one to chase, nor man to fight —
“… if a man seeks change in what he’s for,
then only truth can guide his life…”

and ‘again’, the girl smiles and says:
“… the king may choose his woman or his bride—
with surprise, or with disguise,
with whatever cost of price …”

but to sit side by side the queen’s throne,
and to hold her through shadow and light,
the queen will only choose her king —
when he chooses love in a heart’s quiet fight.

‘… bittersweet and strange
finding you can change … ’

somehow…
we don’t know much about their personal story,
but the land of forever knows everything deeply —
in how they both appear, true to themselves.

and somehow… we know the magic is born

and together they walk in beauty,
and hold love that is alive within them,
and live their great lives,
gracefully in how they rise.

and they show others how to walk in their beauty,
and to hold love that is alive within them,
and to live their great lives,
in grace, as they rise.

… and the queen and her king leave the land of forever…
better than the day they arrived …

‘ … tale as old as time
true as it can be …’

the child of the earth asked her mother:
“how can i find the king in this land of forever?”
and the mother smiled and simply said,
“love, you don’t find the king, … you be queen.”

… know that I have faith in you, love

This came so fast! My heart was beating SOOOOOO WILDLY yesterday, and I’ve been so, so emotional writing this piece. I want to talk more about this piece (and others) but I’ll wait when I see you so we can really talk!

oh .. and I have another truth! I think about YOU. It’s interesting, and it’s quite wonderful, actually

For all the kings and the queens of love I’ve met in this life.

… and for you always
