The Spark

The Knight

Like a knight,
I suit up in my armor,
tucking my sword tight,
wandering through storms
of doubt
on a rainy night.

My armor soaked,
my footsteps slow
but still steady,
ready, in search of a call
in the changing wind,
whispering destiny.

The moon rises,
rain hides
upon unclear paths.
Still, I walk through shadows
and fear
with this heart.

A voice calls
from beyond
the known path,
to the rising heat in the wind,
and again I follow
this heart.

The Knight

You stand on the path
that reveals?
my clarity.

The changing wind
blows your heat
into this identity.

You, a mystery,
wrapped in flame
daring, facing backward
the history.

Into your light,
into your flame, I see
a quiet eternity.

The Fire

Paths lead you here
to me?
onto my path.

The changing wind
blows your ease
into this heart.

You, a mystery,
wrapped in armor
daring, stepping forward
close to me.

In your eyes
shines a light, I see
a reflection of me.

The Knight

Not in defeat,
I lay down my sword.
Piece by piece,
I remove my armor.

Standing naked before you,
carrying only strength,
letting you see me,
my truth and my faith.

The Knight

The burning fire
do I flicker
too wildly
toward you?

Just to ask
to share with me

your warmth,
and your light.

Would you care
if I come
stay close
to your fire?

I’m not afraid
to be burned
to be hurt
I’ll be alright.

The Fire

But will I let you
come close
to the flame
of my color?

Will I warm you
with my heat
and share with you
my light?

Am I afraid
to let you near,
in this time
of wonder?

What if I
only hurt you
with all of my
burning fire?

The Fire

But not in defeat,
I let you come close to mine,
and piece by piece,
I welcome you into my fire.

Burning naked before you,
carrying only strength,
letting you see me,
my truth and my faith.

Hi friends,

I started writing this piece about a meeting of the knight and the fire, but somehow The Calling  began writing itself, and I ended up completing that one first.

These past two days, I returned to the words I had begun. As I wrote, I decided to change the way I told the story. >< I’m trying to portray it as clearly as I see it — and I wanted to write what I see in me, from me, and as truly as I feel it.

So here it is….  the story of the knight and the fire — The Spark. What spark? 😉

Let it spark ~
Let it speak ~
